Alongside Kerkstraat in Blankenberge a state-of-the-art car park designed by the architect Marc Corbiau will arise. The minimalist but inviting design will fit perfectly into the train station district which will be upgraded. The car park, which will have six floors, will be lined with plants and trees and will offer parking for 742 cars.
The Kerkstraat is the main access road to the city centre of Blankenberge. The car park, built for the purpose of stemming the stream of tourist wanting to drive into the city centre will be located near the new train station. In this way it is not only targeted towards tourists but also train passengers who will be able to park their cars within a stone’s throw from the platforms.
